Ultra Folic Acid by Vitabiotics is a formula containing 400 µg of folic acid, carefully balanced with 5 µg of vitamin B12. Folic acid, also known as folate or vitamin B9, is important before and during pregnancy and for men and women of all ages for general well-being.

Before and during pregnancy

British Department of Health recommends that women planning to have a baby take a supplement containing 400 µg of folic acid from the beginning of trying to conceive until the 12th week of pregnancy, as in the case of Ultra Folic Acid.

Supplemental folic acid intake† increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus.
