Ultra Folic Acid by Vitabiotics is a formula containing 400µg of folic acid, carefully balanced with 5µg of vitamin B12. Folic acid, also known as folate or vitamin B9, is important before and during pregnancy and for men and women of all ages for overall well-being.

Before and during pregnancy

British Department of Health recommends that women planning a baby take a supplement containing 400 µg of folic acid from the beginning of trying to conceive until the 12th week of pregnancy, as in the case of Ultra Folic Acid.

Supplemental folic acid intake† increases maternal folate levels. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for neural tube defects in the developing fetus.

Folic acid can also be used during pregnancy because it contributes to tissue growth mother during pregnancy. Vitamin B12 plays a role in the process cell division and contributes to the proper formation of red blood cells .

Immune system

Folic acid and vitamin B12 contribute to the proper functioning of the immune system.

Fatigue and weakness

Vitamin B12 also contributes to normal energy production and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue .

†For women of childbearing potential, the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily supplemental dose of 400 µg of folic acid for at least one month before and up to three months after conception.
